The appointment of Father Pawel as the administrator of our parish is a sign of the Bishop’s confidence in the members of our parish. This move allows us to stand independently from Saint Cecilia’s and to have a resident pastor whose sole focus and attention will be Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. This change will be an opportunity to investigate new possibilities for our parish life and stimulate new activities which will bring us into the future.
No doubt there will be challenges ahead, especially since we have been yoked with Saint Cecilia’s for nearly 20 years. It will be most important that we support our church with our generous offerings and our participation in our liturgical and parochial events which unite us as one family.
Having our own resident pastor, who has no other responsibilities but only Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, will be a great blessing for us and a hope for growth.
As your current pastor, I am looking forward to maintaining our sisterly relationship between Sacred Heart of Jesus and Saint Cecilia. I know that the collaborative spirit which has been established between the two parishes will continue. I will be working very closely with Father Pawel. Please know that myself and the priests at Saint Cecilia will continue to help out here at Sacred Heart when Father Pawel is in need and I shall do the same if I am in need of him.
This is a very positive step forward into the future and we do so with our own priest who will lead us in the image of Christ the Good Shepherd.
My prayers, best wishes and congratulations to Father Pawel!
Father Zig
